Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits or requests - for example, keeping you signed in, remembering a preference, or letting a site measure how it's used. Some of what a browser remembers per-site (like your dark/light mode choice on some pages of this site) uses similar browser storage rather than a cookie file itself, but is covered by the same principles below.
| Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps your session working while you fill out a multi-step form (like a quote request) and protects submitted forms from cross-site forgery. | Session (cleared when you close your browser) |
| Preference | Remembers small in-page choices - for example, a collapsed section or the last tab you had open - stored locally in your browser, not sent to our server. | Until you clear your browser data |
| Third-party embeds | Pages that embed a map (Google Maps or CARTO) or load web fonts may set their own cookies, governed by that provider's own policy rather than ours - see below. | Set by the third party |
We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Some pages load resources from third-party providers to function - for example map tiles (Google Maps or CARTO Basemaps), web fonts (Google Fonts), and icon libraries. Loading these resources may let that provider know your IP address and browser details, and may set their own cookies, under their own privacy and cookie policies:
Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings - the exact steps depend on your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.). Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of this site, such as multi-step forms, from working correctly.
